Learned at an early age to run from things
Run from potential pedophiles
Vicious dogs and strange faces
Dirty old men with smooth smiles

"When the street lights come on
You better run home quick and
Don't dare miss that school bus you better
Run to catch it"

She ran on the Track team
And became the fastest runner
Out the gate to the finish line
At the sound of the gunner

The older she got
She ran from responsibilities
Even ran away from love sometimes
Keeping tricks up the sleeve

Ran out west, away from family
So she wouldn't have to deal also
Ran away from bill collectors
Out in Beverly Hills

Ran and hid from Jehovah Witnesses
With lights off and closed doors
Was once a runaway bride
Cause she say she wasn't sure

She used to run numbers for her pops
Back in the day
She ran out of time and emotion
When her lovers never stayed

One day she ran into an old love
Who made her stay a long while
They built a nice home together
Architectural style

.....Then she got tired of him
He used to run around on her
So she ran for the ATM

Sitting on his fortune and money
She runs from the less fortunate
She worked too hard to get this far
That's the 1st thing she'll admit

Her running days are over well at least
Until trouble takes a hit
And if she needs to run again then believe
She'll have a go at it

All About Happiness

It is true, we face all kinds of situations during the day, and some of them may not be geared towards happiness. We can choose to keep thinking about the unhappy events, choose to refuse to think about them, and instead, relish the happy moments. All of us constantly go through various situations and circumstances, but we do not have to let them influence our reactions and feelings.

Happiness is a feeling of inner peace and satisfaction. It is usually experienced when there are no worries, fears or obsessing thoughts, and this usually happens, when we do something we love to do or when we get, win, gain or achieve something that we value.

Look at what you have done, not at what you have not been able to do. You may have accomplished a lot during the day, and yet you let yourself become frustrated, because of some small things that you did not accomplish. You have spent all day successfully carrying out many plans, and instead of feeling happy and satisfied, you look at what was not accomplished and feel unhappy. It is unfair toward yourself.

The best ways to keep it, is by gaining inner peace through daily meditation. As the mind becomes more peaceful, it becomes easier to choose the happiness habit.

LOVE Misunderstood

I think love as we know it is not what love truly is.  Love is  Omnipresent.  Love is always there before it is seen. Hidden, yet, right before our eyes. All we have to do  is grab it while its still in the dark and bring it to the light to see it clearly.    If GOD is love and we've never seen GOD, then that's what its about.  And to find  that true deep love has to take the work of both parties.   Every person has a potential to be in love with someone and to be loved.

Put  that same love that you have for the Higher Power into self first and  let it trickle about your surroundings.  I think folks just want a quick  fix relationship built on the smallest love and it never last or work  out the way we want it too.   Why build a house on a sand dune.  It will  eventually crumble.

Maybe there are reasons why we can't find love:

1. Our bodies give us away even when we don't know it. Maybe you are unknowingly sending a signal or message to the world that  is keeping some people away - you look away too soon, you have your arms  folded at parties, you look disgruntled.

2. Every time you get burned, you develop emotional debt, especially if you don't deal with your issues.

3. Fear of success or of failure. The expression, 'be careful what you wish  for' is real because many people are afraid to be happy and successful.

Real love is something that happens slowly and lasts for a long period of time, perhaps even for life

Love is out there, its just hidden and very rare to find  these days like a diamond in the middle of a busy street.  You just have  to be willing to walk out into that busy street and risk getting hit by  what is out there and pick up that diamond.  In other words, once you've found that someone you love and they love you back,  you both are taking the risk of going through the emotional punching bag.  What are your expectations when you enter into a relationship?  Do you  approach every relationship as if it were going to last forever, or do  you let things develop slowly over time?

SIDENOTE: Loving and leaving people is never good, especially for the person  getting left behind.  If you do this frequently, you aren't really ready  for a mature loving relationship with anyone.

For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it - Ivan Panin

A Dance Between Two

Opening night
The show begins
A scene
Between twins
Conversations few
Dimly lit view
Half sipped glasses too
Sexually connect
In retrospect
The mood takes affect
If one makes a move
The other follows through
Desire construed
Sex long overdue
When bodies parallel
Each are compelled
The moral of the story is
Clothes hit the floor
Hands take tour
Down sexy curves
Ready to serve
Nipple to nipple
Tongues trickle down necks
Heated moments
Make skin sweat
From one place to the next
Where beds are set
Wanna leave traces
Not easy to forget
Legs around waist
Getting a taste
Of passion
An unexpected action
Deep throat
Always takes the winning vote
Rhythmic moves
Pulsated grooves
Fucking deep
Real smooth
Scratches shown
Loud moans
This ride is for the grown
Screams get higher
Like sirens to fire
All that's required
Faster and faster
As tongue go deep
The All Seeing Eye
Legs are weak
Sensitive to touch
Passion rush
to the rescue
Disaster seeps
Climax hit its peak
As the creek
Keeps its flow
Wetness show
One keeps going
While the other keeps flowing
Climbing walls
Past nightfall
When she say STOP
Screaming to the top
Of her lungs
The message sung
Heard among
All smiles glow
The gift bestowed
Reached goals
Is all they know
A duo to tango
The whistle blows
The lady sings in alto
Curtains closed

Unspoken Words

A couple living together for years have changed the way things used to be and the love that was once shown so clearly to the world is a complete lost.  As one person comes from work, the other one leaves out.  They seem to be more like college roommates going in and out a revolving door, never having time to just sit and talk about what is. Conversations have now become few and far between and the lust for each other has died.  They are comfortable in a way with how things are if only they had the love they so desire for that special someone.  Too scared to leave, so they stay and deal.

So why do they stay in such an uncomfortable environment?  Would you change the situation to make it comfortable or get away from it altogether?  I think that you need to do what you are comfortable with but being comfortable and unhappy is not a good mixture.

Maybe the person is not comfortable with his or herself or know how to be alone.
Maybe its low self-esteem
Maybe its Fear of not finding someone else
Maybe its Fear of moving forward
Maybe its just to say "I'm not leaving, so you leave"

It very easy to get into a relationship, but when the relationship begin having major issues and things goes sour and you don't know what to do, then your decisions become much more difficult.  Unfortunately, most of us repeat this mistake too often and take people/things for granted.  In the back of their minds they maybe stuck in thinking about the past, wondering what went wrong, and unable to move from the pain of the relationship and to keep emotions from rising, they avoid it altogether to save for a rainy day, which may or may not come.

What will help this situation to make it better?

Talking to family and friends
Getting away from the relationship
Staying and working it out by communicating
Clearing out some clutter together to revitalize the relationship
Support groups

When a relationship experiences challenges, very often we want to put the blame on each other, so we must take 100% responsibility for the relationship---nothing more or no less.  Only when you heal and let go and let God is when you stop with the "faults” and “blames" but you must see eye to eye to get to this point!  It's very important to differentiate what has happened in the past from what is happening now.  There's a pattern that must be looked at very carefully!  I think that focusing on what you like about your partner instead of what you don't and then decide to make other choices is the key to making any heavy situation a much lighter and better situation in the end!!

Sooner or later you will actually be able to give thanks for the lessons that that person taught you.

My Poetic Bio

I started out with big dreams and smile wide, Deep in the thought at the
age of 2 and knew what I wanted to do
Often looking up to the stars for answers and enlightenment in hope
that I would one day reach for the stars
I was somewhere over the rainbow like Dorothy, following the yellow brick road
Awaiting my pot of gold but when I reached 12 years old my world came tumbling down
Half of me was taken away deep into the grounds lay cold my father figure
And I figured that there was no hope for me and nothing to look forward to
A pen approached me one night and forced me to write when I was feeling blue
There we were getting acquainted with one another
Day and night, Night and day we were like lovers under covers
Locked tight in a bedroom with very little light
I discovered a deeper talent I never thought I had Words scrambled on a pad
like musical notes
I wrote songs, I wrote poetry but was this really me?
I tried to get into other things to test the waters a bit
I tried modeling, acting, and even pageants but nothing clicked
Then I found myself back to the drawing boards with a pen in my hand
like pimps to whores, I was loving it
Taking into consideration that years have past and I was no longer grieving for dad
But sad and mad about the troubles life gave although I was well behaved
and things didn’t go my way
And I couldn’t see past the immediate at times I wanted to be like regular teens
wild and mischievous
But because of the bloods that run through my veins I was like Jesus
The same yesterday, today and tomorrow, no change
I took one look over my life and found that I would only write when I was down
Deeper were the meanings rooted like trees way, way down
I had become connected to the earth and had sprouted taller than Sears tower
I had power and like they say Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world
I was far beyond the average woman and never less a girl
I was “The Daughter From the Stars” and was met by brothers from another planet
Giving knowledge to earthly beings so they could understand it
We became the 4 seasons, 4 elements of the zodiac
Standing on 4 corners of the earth with straighter backs
Like steam from heat we pollute the air, We focus more on life’s reasons
With a prophetic glare in our eyes we know why we are here but do you know why?
Running into struggles like brick walls and knowing that empty words come from empty minds
No one has studied the earth more than I but in their eyes it seems as though I’m blind and
Behind on the resources too yet the earth and all the other planets are just quarters in my pockets
Spent on reality and values now we can part the Red Seas and lead the lost into the promise land
Holding their hands like children til their eyes are fully opened
Teach them that it’s ok to discover self and not be like someone else
The battle is already won so why keep track of the time
Living below our means is not what God had in mind
Therefore, the earth is my shoes and I tread the fields searching for clues like Easter eggs
Praying to have something to look up to when I’m not always bowing
my head and on my knees
Begging forgiveness to the Almighty

K is for knowing
A is for always
L is for Love
A is for abides
And if you Know Always that Love Abides then how can you go wrong
Always stay afloat the water and keep the focus strong

The one you least expect

Have you ever noticed certain people who look like they have it all. They always seem like the calmest, coolest, smartest, confident, kind-hearted soul that can make heads turn in a room. Having no care in the world. Most of the time they are the ones going through hidden problems like substance abuse, childhood abuse, physical or mental abuse or the ones who went through something in their past like molestation, neglect, abuse, etc.

It makes you wonder how they became the person they are now.  I feel that life teaches us things by molding and shaping us through trials and tribulations. I also feel like if your childhood was destroyed by some type of abuse then it causes you to be angry for years or decades. Even childhood sexual abuse, like rape, robs victims of their personal power and sense of control over their lives and their bodies. Then there is self-hatred due to feelings of blame, shame, and low self-worth. Victims of abuse may feel that they’re less worthy or less valuable so they have a tendency of isolating themselves.

Through the years, you seek answers through books, writings, films, music, art and more which are all wonderful ways to escape the truth. Most say that they get their anger out through the before-mentioned and sometimes it shows or at least I can tell.  Do we ever really get over the past or will the past remain deep within.  No matter how you try to block it out of your mind or escape it, someway, somehow it can been found in films, books, writings and more and then it takes us back to where we once was.  No matter the damage done, you can't stay angry forever.  Life continues on

I believe that it teaches us to create what we see or have been through so that others can see and learn from you.  The abuser saves others who are or have been abused and they pay it forward somehow.  Once we know who we are and what we was ordained to be and give to the world, then we become an open book.  Having so many things to say, so many answers, so many shoes to fill.  So I say to those who cannot get pass the past, to find something to put that energy into and show the world how you made it through.  Believe it or not, GOD chooses some of us to go through hardships to become stronger people and teach the world what we know.  God want us to show the world how we became who we are.

Reparations is here

Reparations is far from us like the earth to the moon
We sit and cast out wishes like fishermen, in hopes to get rich soon
Like the Olympics, chances knock once every 4 years
Instead of just doing it, like NIKE, we stand back in fear
Afraid to make goals and a name as Blacks, in fact
We too busy pulling knives out of backs
Competition was put in our minds by the slave master
Cause he wanted to see this race as a disaster

AND the SLAVE Master won

Let ME Introduce YOU to ME

I give words to folks like babies to mothers
Something that will be there forever
Unlike clouds, I tend to shine much better
and wake up minds early in the morning
Before I speak, you know who I am
Damn let me rephrase that
I am
the ROOT of ALL Things
The greatest thing since Santa
In Atlanta, I'm known to bring the Shit
Like tissue to asses, just wipe it
Start with a clean slate
Like the Ones close to my home
Left high and dry and stuck deep in muddy waters
Sons and daughters have new names
And the US no shame
